Thomson Reuters released its list of the ‘Top 100 Hospitals for Cardiovascular Care.’ Ball Memorial Hospital was named as one of those Top 100 hospitals.

The list was broken into three parts: Teaching Hospitals with Cardiovascular Residency Program, Teaching Hospitals without a Cardiovascular Residency Program and Community Hospitals.

On the list were four hospitals in Indiana which included: St. Vincent Indianapolis Hospital, Ball Memorial Hospital, St. Vincent Heart Center of Indiana and The Indiana Heart Hospital.

BMH was the only hospital was the only Indiana hospital on the list that is a teaching hospital without a cardiovascular residency program. Nationally, 40 of the 100 honored fell into that category.

For the list, Reuters analyzed 2007 and 2008 Medicare reports.

“We are very honored to have been named in the top 100,” said Claire Lee, Ball Memorial Hospital employee. “It's something we've worked really hard to achieve, not just the recognition but for what it means to us."
